Basic Operation Power Switch The camera can operate only after the switch is turned on. : The camera is turned off and does not operate. : To turn on the camera, set to this position. : This is the same as except that the beeper sounds when focus is achieved in the One-Shot AF mode or with manual focus. To save battery power, the camera turns off automatically after 1 minute of non-operation (p.45). To turn on the camera again, just press the shutter button halfway. If you turn the switch to while the captured images are being recorded onto the memory card, the remaining number of captured images to be recorded will be displayed on the top LCD panel. When all the images are finished recording, the display will turn off and the camera will turn off. 33
