Cause Remedy Scuff marks are made on paper The mechanism of the printer is designed to load the paper holder with roll paper. Depending on the sensitivity/characteristics of the paper that you use, scuff marks may be made on paper, due to the ribs inside the paper holder or damper spring of the Paper Cover. If you are worried about such marks made on the printed side, it is recommended that you use the type of paper with a feed shaft. Ribs Software Installation Trouble Cause Remedy The "Invalid Argument" message appeared during software installation and [OK] was clicked to continue installation, but the printer icon was not registered and printing is not possible. On Windows 7, if the startup type setting for the print spooler is set to [Manual] (default setting), proper installation may not be possible. Perform the following to verify the print spooler setting, start the service, and then reinstall the software after uninstalling it. 1. Click the Start button, and then click [Control Panel]. 2. Click [System and Security] - [Administrative Tools] in the Control Panel. 3. Double-click [Service] in the [Administrative Tools] screen. 4. Double-click [Print Spooler] in the [Service] screen. 5. If [Startup type] is set to [Manual] in the [Print Spooler Properties] screen, set it to [Automatic] and then click the [Start] button under [Service status] to change the status to "Started".
