Scanner Unit This unit scans the documents. Back Maintenance Cover Open this cover to clear paper jams or to clean the scanner. Eject Pocket Documents are separated with flappers into three pockets. (See p. 35) Eject Stopper Pull out the Eject Stopper to prevent documents from falling off the output tray. Adjustment Dial Cover Adjustment Dial Adjust the Separation Roller gap if feeding errors occur too frequently. (See "Adjusting the Separation Roller Gap," on p. 56.) Top Cover Separation OFF Mode Button Use this button when you want to scan the following documents (See "Separation OFF Mode," on p. 36.): • Thick documents • Documents that contain two or more pages together as one document • Documents that have a rough surface • Duplicate forms that have sticky edges 15
