Setup Setting the System Time 3 Setting the System Time Use the Setup > Time page to specify the system time for your network. The router uses the time settings to time-stamp log events, to automatically apply the Access Rules and Content Filters, and to perform other activities for other internal purposes. You can allow the router to receive the local time settings automatically from a server, or you can enter the local time manually. To open this page: Click Setup > Time in the navigation tree. NOTE Before navigating away from this page, click Save to save your settings, or click Cancel to undo them. Any unsaved changes are abandoned. Choose one of the following options to set the time, and then enter the required information. • Set the local time using Network Time Protocol (NTP) automatically: Choose this option to allow the router to receive the time settings automatically from an NTP server. Then enter the following settings: - Time Zone: Select your time zone. The default is (GMT-08:00) Pacific Time (US & Canada); Tijuana. - Daylight Saving: To automatically adjust the time for daylight savings, select Enabled. In the Start Date field, enter the Month and Day when daylight savings time begins. Use mm.dd format, such as 6.25 for June 25. Also enter the End Date in the same format. - NTP Server: Enter the URL or IP address of the NTP server. The default is time.nist.gov. Cisco Small Business RV0xx Series Routers Administration Guide 42
