Problem Presario 1200XL Series Model XL300, XL300A, and XL300B Solving Battery Pack/Gauge Problems Probable Cause Solution(s) Battery pack has partially self-discharged. Condition the battery pack by fully charging, fully discharging, then fully recharging it. To maintain the charge, leave the battery pack in the Notebook when it is connected to an external power source. Battery pack is exposed to high or extremely cold temperatures. If the Notebook is disconnected from external power for more than two weeks, remove battery packs to reduce the discharge rate. Keep the battery pack within the recommended temperature range for operation or storage. • Operating Range: 50°F to 104°F (10°C to 40°C) • Storage Range: -4°F to 86°F (-20°C to 30°C) Recharge the battery pack.
