Removal and Replacement Procedures 2-19 24X or Higher Low-Profile CD-ROM Drive The ProLiant DL580 server ships with a 24X or higher low-profile CD-ROM drive. This drive may be removed with the removable media assembly still secured to the server, or by removing the removable media assembly. To remove the 24X or higher low-profile CD-ROM drive: 1. Perform the preparation procedures. See "Preparation Procedures" earlier in this chapter. 2. Remove the top access panel. See "Top Access Panel" earlier in this chapter. 3. Remove the cables from the rear of the drive. See "24X or Higher Low-Profile CD-ROM Signal and Power Cables" later in this chapter. 4. Lift out the removable media assembly. See "CD-ROM and Diskette Drive Removable Media Assembly" earlier in this chapter. 5. Loosen the two captive thumbscrews that secure the plastic stop to the CD-ROM and diskette drive removable media assembly, then lift the plastic stop away from the removable media assembly. 6. 24X or Higher Low-Profile CD-ROM Drive
The ProLiant DL580 server ships with a 24X or higher low-profile CD-ROM drive. This drive
may be removed with the removable media assembly still secured to the server, or by removing
the removable media assembly.
To remove the 24X or higher low-profile CD-ROM drive:
1. Perform the preparation procedures. See

earlier in this chapter.
2. Remove the top access panel. See

3. Remove the cables from the rear of the drive. See

4. Lift out the removable media assembly. See

5. Loosen the two captive thumbscrews
that secure the plastic stop to the CD-ROM and
diskette drive removable media assembly, then lift the plastic stop
away from the
removable media assembly.
6. Move the CD-ROM
back, then out of the CD-ROM and diskette drive removable
media assembly.
