WARNING: This computer contains an internal lithium manganese dioxide, a vanadium pentoxide, or an alkaline battery pack. There is risk of fire and burns if the battery pack is not handled properly. To reduce the risk of personal injury: Do not attempt to recharge the battery. Do not expose the battery to temperatures higher than 60°C. Do not disassemble, crush, puncture, short external contacts, or dispose of the battery in fire or water. Replace the battery only with the Compaq spare battery designated for this product. CAUTION: Batteries, battery packs, and accumulators should not be disposed of together with the general household waste. To forward them to recycling or proper disposal, please use the public collection system or return them to Compaq, your authorized Compaq partners, or their agents. To install the replacement battery: 1. Perform the preparation procedures. See "Preparation Procedures" earlier in this chapter. 2. Remove the top access panel. See "Top Access Panel" earlier in this chapter. 3. Remove the peripheral board. See "Peripheral Board" earlier in this chapter. WARNING: Disconnect all the power cords to completely remove power from the system. Disconnect the power cord from the server before removing the peripheral board. 4. Remove the lithium manganese dioxide battery from the peripheral board. CAUTION: Loss of BIOS settings occurs when the flat disk battery is removed. BIOS settings must be reconfigured whenever the battery is replaced.

Replacement Battery

Do not expose the battery to temperatures higher than 60

Do not disassemble, crush, puncture, short external contacts, or dispose of the battery in
fire or water.
Replace the battery only with the Compaq spare battery designated for this product.
CAUTION:
Batteries, battery packs, and accumulators should not be disposed of

4. Remove the lithium manganese dioxide battery from the peripheral board.

must be reconfigured whenever the battery is replaced.
