3-26 Compaq ProLiant Clusters HA/F100 and HA/F200 Administrator Guide 5. Use Microsoft Cluster Administrator to perform a manual failover of the cluster group that contains the IP address. 6. After the manual failover completes, execute the ping command again. 7. As soon as the other node brings the cluster group online, a response similar to the one noted in Step 4 should be returned. If the client successfully accessed the failed-over IP address, your cluster is working. If the client was unsuccessful, either the cluster group was not configured correctly, the failover did not occur, or the ping command was performed before the failover activity completed. 8. If network client failover is not working correctly, see the installation troubleshooting tips in Chapter 6. To verify a more extreme case, instead of failing over the IP address, power off the primary cluster node and verify that the resource fails over to the other node.
