Care and Cleaning General Maintenence This appliance will last longer and perform more dependably if cleaned regularly. 1. Wash surfaces with a soft damp cloth soaked in warm soapy water. 2. Check regularly that the door gaskets and other hardware are clean. 3. Replace the water filter every 6 months. Turning the Ice Maker ON/OFF 1. Press and hold Freezer Set for three seconds to change the ice maker setting. Freezer Set WARNING Unplug the refrigerator before cleaning it. WARNING • Never use flammable liquids for cleaning purposes. • Never use any sharp or abrasive tools, harsh chemicals or wax polish for cleaning. • Be careful when cleaning around the control panel and lights. • Do not spray water or cleaners of any kind around these areas: Doing so may create an electric shock hazard and damage the electrical parts. • Never use cleaning agents or water that contains chlorine to clean the surfaces of the unit. Chlorine causes corrosion on metal surfaces. • Always wipe stainless steel surfaces with the grain of the steel. Controlling the Ice Maker with Freezer Set Cleaning the Ice Bin WARNING Remove the ice bin before cleaning: Do not attempt to clean the ice bin assembly without removing it from the refrigerator. To Remove the Ice Bin: 1. Turn the latch located on the side. 2. Pull the bin out. Do not touch any moving parts during cleaning. WARNING • Turn OFF the ice maker and disconnect the power plug before replacing the filter or installing the filter bypass. • The water filter cleans some foreign particles in the water; it does not purify water from microorganisms. Ice Container The ice container is used for ice collection. Do not put water in the container as it may break. Do not use for storing food. 27
