Volume-control board Removing the volume-control board The volume-control board is available in Latitude 5430 Chromebook 2-in-1 configurations only. Prerequisites 1. Follow the procedure in before working inside your computer. 2. Remove the base cover. 3. Remove the battery. About this task The following image indicates the location of the volume-control board and provides a visual representation of the removal procedure. Steps 1. Open the latch and disconnect the volume-control board cable from the connector on the system board. 2. Open the latch and disconnect the volume-control board cable from the connector on the volume-control board. 3. Remove the two screws (M1.6x1.5) that secure the volume-control board to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly. 4. Lift and remove the volume-control board from the palm-rest and keyboard assembly. Open the latch and disconnect the volume-control board cable from the connector on the system board.
2.
Open the latch and disconnect the volume-control board cable from the connector on the volume-control board.
3.
Remove the two screws (M1.6x1.5) that secure the volume-control board to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
4.
Lift and remove the volume-control board from the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
