Table B-1. System Setup Program Categories Category Function BIOS VERSION Displays the version number and release date of the BIOS in the computer. TIME Resets time on computer's internal clock. DATE Resets date on computer's internal calendar. INTERNAL HARD DRIVE Displays capacity of computer's hard-disk drive. DISKETTE DRIVE A Identifies type of diskette drive installed. BOOT SPEED Indicates operating frequency at which computer boots-processor's rated speed or a slower speed for power conservation or speedsensitive software. BOOT SEQUENCE Determines whether computer boots from diskette (if present) or hard-disk drive. SPEAKER VOLUME Adjusts volume of computer's speaker or disables speaker. (System beep codes are not affected by this category's setting.) KEYBOARD CLICK Determines whether built-in keyboard makes audible clicking sounds. (SPEAKER VOLUME must also be enabled.) SERIAL PORT Configures computer's built-in serial port. INFRARED DATA PORT Configures computer's built-in IrDA 1.0compatible communications port. PARALLEL MODE Controls whether computer's built-in parallel port is configured as an Enhanced Capability Port, Enhanced Parallel Port, AT-compatible (unidirectional) port, or PS/2-compatible (bidirectional) port. INTEGRATED TRACKBALL Enables computer's integrated trackball. Set to DISABLED to connect a serial mouse. UPPER PC CARD SOCKET or LOWER PC CARD SOCKET Displays status of PC Card connectors. To conserve power, category may be set to DISABLED if a PC Card is installed but not being used.
