CAUTION: Before you begin any of the procedures in this section, follow the safety instructions in the Product Information Guide. NOTICE: To avoid electrostatic discharge, ground yourself by using a wrist grounding strap or by periodically touching an unpainted metal surface (such as the back panel) on the computer. NOTICE: To help prevent damage to the system board, you must remove the battery from the battery bay before you begin working inside the computer. Removing a Mini-Card 1. Follow the procedures in Before You Begin. 2. Remove the hinge cover (see Removing the Hinge Cover). 3. Remove the keyboard (see Removing the Keyboard). 4. Disconnect the two antenna cables from the Mini-Card. 1 Mini-Card 2 antenna cables (2) 5. Release the Mini-Card by pushing the metal securing tabs toward the back of the computer until the card pops up slightly. 6. Lift the Mini-Card out of its system board connector.

If you ordered a Mini-Card with your computer, the card is already installed.
Removing a Mini-Card
1.
Follow the procedures in
Before You Begin
.
2.
Remove the hinge cover (see
Removing the Hinge Cover
).
3.
Remove the keyboard (see
Removing the Keyboard
).
4.
Disconnect the two antenna cables from the Mini-Card.
5.
Release the Mini-Card by pushing the metal securing tabs toward the back of the computer until the card pops up slightly.
6.
Lift the Mini-Card out of its system board connector.
