12 Palm Rest Removing the Palm Rest CAUTION: Before you begin any of the procedures in this section, follow the safety instructions in the Product Information Guide. NOTICE: To avoid electrostatic discharge, ground yourself by using a wrist grounding strap or by periodically touching an unpainted metal surface (such as the back panel) on the computer. 1 Follow the instructions in "Before You Begin" on page 9. 2 Remove any installed ExpressCards from the ExpressCard slot. 3 Remove any installed memory modules or Mini Cards (see "Memory" on page 19 and "Communication Cards" on page 31). 4 Remove the hard drive (see "Hard Drive" on page 15). 5 Remove the display assembly (see "Display Assembly" on page 37). 6 Turn the computer upside down and remove the fourteen screws from the computer base.
