Inserting and Removing SDS MAX Chisels (Fig. C) NOTE: Accessories and attachments used must be lubricated around the SDS MAX fitment before installation. 1. Insert chisel in the tool holder/sleeve 4 and apply downward pressure while rotating to secure the chisel into place. The chisel shank must be clean. 2. Ensure the chisel is properly engaged. NOTE: The chisel needs to move several centimeters in and out of the tool holder/sleeve 4 when properly engaged. Fig. C 4 3. WARNING: Apply a pressure of approx. 44-66 lbs. (20-30 kg.) to the tool. Excessive force does not speed up chiselling but decreases tool performance and may shorten tool life.
