R-D1 Firmware Update Instructions This document provides the instructions for updating the EPSON R-D1 digital camera firmware. Please read these instructions completely before attempting the firmware update. Important remarks concerning the firmware upgrade - Once you have upgraded your Epson R-D1 digital Rangefinder camera to firmware version 2.0, you will not be able to "downgrade" or return to previous versions of the firmware. Please take this into consideration prior to the upgrade. - If your memory card contains data, we recommend making a back up of the important data to your computer since the data stored in the memory card might be deleted when the memory card is formatted. - Due to the new functions added by the upgrade, picture capacity of memory cards is decreased about 10%. - This firmware upgrade operation may be performed by Epson customers. Be sure to perform the upgrade by strictly following the instructions in this guide. Do not alter the firmware files in any way. There should be no failure by following the firmware update instructions. Please understand that if the upgrade fails due to any reason (battery removal, low battery etc.), it will lead to time-consuming repairs of the R-D1 on which the upgrade has failed.
