6-2-3 Configuring S/PDIF Out The S/PDIF Out jack can transmit audio signals to an external decoder for decoding to get the best audio quality. 1. Connecting a S/PDIF Out Cable: Connect a S/PDIF optical cable to an external decoder for transmitting the S/PDIF digital audio signals. 2. Configuring S/PDIF Out: Step 1: While in the operating system, right-click on the icon in the notification area and select Playback devices. Connects to a S/PDIF optical cable Step 2: On the Playback tab, right-click on SPDIF Out, select Set as Default Device, and then open the Properties dialog box. Step 3: You can go to the Supported Formats tab to select the formats to be decoded or the Advanced tab to select the sample rate and bit depth. Appendix - 116 -

Configuring S/PDIF Out
The S/PDIF Out jack can transmit audio signals to an external decoder for decoding to get the best audio
quality.
1. Connecting a S/PDIF Out Cable:
Connect a S/PDIF optical cable to an external decoder for transmitting the S/PDIF digital audio signals.
2. Configuring S/PDIF Out:
Step 1:
While in the operating system, right-click on the
icon
in the notification area and select
Playback devices
.
Step 2:
On the

tab, right-click on
SPDIF Out
, select
Set as Default Device
, and then open the
Properties
dialog box.
Step 3:
You can go to the
