Configuration • Network Settings. Use these pages to enable or disable network protocols, or set values for HP Jetdirect configuration parameters. If you type a value, click Apply to set it, or click Cancel to ignore the entry. Note When changing the TCP/IP address, the connection to the HP Embedded Web Server is closed, and client printing might be affected. To re-establish a connection, use the new TCP/IP address. • Other Settings. This link appears if the Web pages support multiple languages. (Optionally, supported languages can be selected through language preference settings in your browser. See your browser's Help). • Support Info. Use this page to configure the Support page. Designate a support contact or phone number, or specify URL addresses for product and technical support. • Select Language. This link appears if the Web pages support multiple languages. (Optionally, supported languages can be selected through language preference settings in your browser. See your browser's Help). Security • Admin Password. Set an administrative password to control access to the HP Embedded Web Server. This password can also be set using Telnet and HP Web JetAdmin. If a password is set, you are prompted for a user name and this password in order to gain access to the HP Embedded Web Server configuration pages. • SSL/TLS. Enable or disable Secure Sockets Layer/Transport Layer Security (SSL/TLS) advanced security protocol for HP Jetdirect print-server management. Set up an Simple Network Management Protocol, version 3 (SNMPv3) account to allow management software access to the SNMPv3 agent on the HP Jetdirect print server. • Telnet. Enable or disable access to the print server's configuration parameters through Telnet. • Access Control. Specify one or more host systems that can have access to the device. Each entry consists of a TCP/IP address and a mask (a mask typically specifies a group of host systems). Up to ten entries can be specified. If the list is empty, any supported system can gain access to the device. Diagnostics • Network Statistics. This page shows network statistics that have been collected and stored on the HP Jetdirect print server. Network statistics are often useful to diagnose network performance and operational problems. • Protocol Info. This page provides a list of network configuration settings on the HP Jetdirect print server for each protocol. • Configuration Page. This page shows the HP Jetdirect Configuration Page, which contains HP Jetdirect status and configuration information. See the HP Jetdirect documentation on your printing-system software CD-ROM for a detailed description of its contents. • Refresh Rate. This page specifies the time interval (in seconds) for HP Jetdirect diagnostic page updates. To disable the refresh rate, set this value to "0" (zero). Network settings From the Networking tab, you can enable and configure the following network protocols: • TCP/IP • IPX/SPX • AppleTalk • Data link control/logical link control (DLC/LLC) • Simple network management protocol (SNMP) 40 Technology background information Software Technical Reference
