Troubleshooting The following illustration shows a typical web browser interface screen. For more information on using the web browser interface, see the Management and Configuration Guide for the Series 6120 Switches, which is on the ProCurve Web site at www.hp.com/go/bladesystem/documentation. An extensive help system is also available for the web browser interface. To access the help system though, the subnet on which the switch is installed must have access to the internet, or ProCurve Manager needs to be installed on a network management station that is on the subnet. Troubleshooting This chapter describes how to troubleshoot your switch. This document describes troubleshooting mostly from a hardware perspective. You can perform more in-depth troubleshooting on the switch using the software tools available with the switch, including the full-featured console interface, the built-in web browser interface, and ProCurve Manager, the SNMP-based network management tool. For more information, see the chapter "Troubleshooting" in the Management and Configuration Guide for the Series 6120 Switches, which is on the HP Web site at www.hp.com/go/bladesystem/documentation. This chapter describes the following: ■ Basic Troubleshooting Tips (page 23) ■ Diagnosing with the LEDs (page 25) ■ Proactive Networking Tools (page 29) ■ Hardware Diagnostic Tests (page 29) ■ Restoring the Factory Default Configuration (page 31) ■ Downloading New Switch Software (page 34) ■ HP Customer Support Services (page 34) 22
