Chapter 5 Assembling the LXr 8500 c. Apply one long folded-foam gasket on the top of each power supply bay. Center this gasket at the edge of the power supply bay. d. Apply one metal gasket to each side of each power supply bay as follows: ∗ The open tab of each gasket points toward the center of the NetServer. ∗ For the two metal gaskets that must be secured to the sides of the chassis, place the two gasket holes over the two metal inserts in the chassis. ∗ For the remaining four metal gaskets, place each such that the point of the gasket is approximately 2-5/8 inch (67mm) up from the floor of the power supply bay, and approximately 2-3/8 inch (61mm) in from the side edge. 25. Install the new power supply modules supplied with the upgrade kit. Snap each handle into the upright position to lock the module into place. (See Figure 5-21.) CAUTION Be sure to use the three new powers supplies provided in this upgrade kit. It is possible that your NetServer will crash if you use an old power supply. Power supplies that are compatible with the NetServer LXr 8500 are part numbers 0950-3663 (all revisions) and 0950-2881, revisions 01, 02, or greater. Do not install power supplies with part number 0950-2881, revisions S2.7, S3.0, or 00. 61
