Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet, and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 23), and then remove the following components: a. Battery (see Battery on page 25) b. Solid-state drive (see Battery on page 25) c. System board (see System board on page 35) Remove the power button actuator: 1. Release the power button actuator spring arms (1) from the retention tabs (2) built into the keyboard/ top cover. 2. Press in on the power button actuator (3) to release it from the keyboard/top cover. 3. Remove the power button actuator. Reverse this procedure to install the power button actuator.
