Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer. 3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer. 4. Remove the bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 24), and then remove the following components: a. Battery (see Battery on page 26) b. WLAN module (see WLAN module on page 29) c. Fan (see Fan on page 33) NOTE: When replacing the system board, be sure that the memory module(s) (see Memory module on page 28) and the heat sink (see Heat sink on page 36) are removed from the defective system board and installed on the replacement system board. Before removing the system board, follow these steps:
1.

off
the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is
