Appendix B — Troubleshooting Try to use Hyperterminal to dial up to a BBS. If the connection is successful, then the data function of your modem is working fine. Try exiting the communications software and running it again. You may try to install new version of communication software that supports higher interrupts. I have done the Diagnostic test. However, the system gave an error message that the system is unable to open the COM Port.
