Optical Drive Cables and Connector Description Optical drive connector cable Spare part number 665726-001 The optical drive connector is secured with two screws, and one eyelet screw secures the cable to the computer. The connector has two cables that connect to the system board. Figure 7-31 Optical drive cable location To remove the optical drive connector: 1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (see Preparing to Disassemble the Computer on page 33). 2. Remove the rear cover (see Rear Cover on page 34). 3. Remove the optical drive (see Optical Drive on page 44). 4. Remove the system board cover (see System Board Cover on page 49). 5. Remove two screws (1) that secure the optical drive connector to the computer. 6. Remove eyelet screw (2) that secures the optical drive cable to the computer. 7.
