16 Installing and troubleshooting Checking the SCSI connection You can connect this scanner to a computer using a SCSI card and cable that meet the requirements shown below. These requirements are the same as those on any SCSI flyer that might be included in the scanner box. For all SCSI cards and cables: q The SCSI card must be compliant with the operating system that your computer is running. q The SCSI card must be installed with appropriate software drivers. See the documentation for the card. q The SCSI card must have a connector visible on the back of the computer that allows you to connect a SCSI cable. q The SCSI cable must have a connector on one end that matches the SCSI connector on the computer (see example below). q The other end of the SCSI cable must have a connector that matches the high- density, mini 50-pin connector on the scanner (see example below). Checking the SCSI connection
You can connect this scanner to a computer using a SCSI card and cable that meet
the requirements shown below. These requirements are the same as those on any
SCSI flyer that might be included in the scanner box.
For all SCSI cards and cables:
The SCSI card must be compliant with the operating system that your computer
is running.
The SCSI card must be installed with appropriate software drivers. See the
documentation for the card.
The SCSI card must have a connector visible on the back of the computer that
allows you to connect a SCSI cable.
The SCSI cable must have a connector on one end that matches the SCSI
connector on the computer (see example below).
