NOTE: Use a text editor to view the file after you have saved it. We recommend that you use WordPad on a Windows system, because it displays the configuration information in an easy-to-use format. Ping Host Use the Ping Host IP Address page to check network connectivity between the appliance and a host system. Enter the IP address, and then click Ping. The GUI displays a message that indicates whether the ping succeeded. After reviewing the message, click Continue to proceed. Shut Down/Restart Before using either of these options, make sure that none of the initiators (application and backup systems) are currently accessing the appliance (that is, make sure that an initiator is not using the appliance to perform a backup). • Restart To shut down the appliance briefly and then automatically restart it, click this button. Wait several minutes before you log back on to the GUI. • Shut Down To shut down the appliance and leave the power off, click this button.
