Field Replaceable Units FRU Removal and Replacement Removing I/O Cards This section assumes that you already have I/O cards loaded in the system unit, and you would like to remove them. You will need a T-15 Torx driver or a flat blade screw driver to remove the I/O slot bulkhead screws. Here are the steps required for remove an I/O card from the system unit. 1. Open the side panel of the system unit as explained in the section "Opening the Left Side Panel of the System Unit" in this chapter. 2. Pull evenly in the direction of the arrow on both sides of the I/O card retainer to remove it. See Figure 4-13. Figure 4-13. Removing the I/O Card Retainer I/O Card Retainer I/O Card Air Divider 3. Locate the I/O card you want to remove and using a T-15 Torx driver or flat blade screw driver remove the I/O card's bulkhead screw as shown in Figure 4-14. Figure 4-14. Field Replaceable Units
FRU Removal and Replacement
Removing I/O Cards
This section assumes that you already have I/O cards loaded in the system unit, and you
would like to remove them. You will need a T-15 Torx driver or a flat blade screw driver to
remove the I/O slot bulkhead screws.
Here are the steps required for remove an I/O card from the system unit.
1. Open the side panel of the system unit as explained in the section “Opening the Left
Side Panel of the System Unit” in this chapter.
2. Pull evenly in the direction of the arrow on both sides of the I/O card retainer to remove
it. See Figure 4-13.

3. Locate the I/O card you want to remove and using a T-15 Torx driver or flat blade screw
driver remove the I/O card’s bulkhead screw as shown in Figure 4-14.
