Adaptec SCSI RAID Software Reference Guide Controller #0 (03:05:00) Adaptec 2200S RESET The RESET command resets a controller to its initial start-up state and waits for the controller's on-board kernel to restart. If the controller's flash components were updated, the new firmware is executed. Use the /C switch to reset a specific controller or multiple controllers. You must reset your system or issue a RESET command following an UPDATE or a SAVE command because these commands effectively shut down the controller's kernel. Default Switch Values If you do not include the /C switch, the AFU returns a fatal error message. Examples A:\> AFU RESET /C 0 Resets controller 0. A:\> AFU RESET /C ALL Resets all supported controllers. SAVE The SAVE command saves the contents of a controller's flash in a UFI file. The name of the UFI file is based on the controller type and cannot be changed. Use the /D switch to specify the drive and directory where you want AFU to create the UFI file. Note that you cannot specify more than one controller with the SAVE command. If you include the /C switch and specify more than one controller ID, the AFU displays an error message and exits. You must reset your system or issue a RESET command following a SAVE command because this command effectively shuts down the controller's kernel. 12-10
