The system stops or hangs while booting. Solution Make sure that the system is not in soft power off mode by pressing on the power switch located on the front of the workstation. Check that the LAN cable is connected and the LEDs on the LAN connector are blinking. Follow the instructions in "Dealing with a Boot Failure" later in this chapter. If the LCD displays a DIMM error, follow the instructions in the section "Memory Failures" later in this chapter. If problems persist, contact your system administrator or call your designated service representative. Problems with the 10/100 Base T Network Problem Solution Cannot reach other systems on the network and applications that rely on the network will not run. Check the network connector on the back of the system unit. Make sure the network cable or transceiver is fastened securely to the connector.
