Configuring serial ports Two configurable serial ports, COM 2 and COM 4, are standard on the thin client. On some models, COM 3 is also a configurable serial port. COM 1 is a standard serial port that cannot be configured. Some devices use a powered serial port. If the serial port is configured as a powered port, devices that support a powered serial interface do not require an external power source. Locating configurable serial port jumpers See Locating internal components on page 11 to find the configurable serial port jumpers.
