Using the Infrared Remote Control Using the Infrared Remote Control Point the remote control at the infrared receiver on the DVD camcorder to operate the DVD camcorder. The remote controllable distance is approximately 18 feet (5 m). 15˃ 10˃ 10˃ 15˃ approx. 18 feet (5m) Cautions • When using the remote control, make sure that the infrared receiver of DVD camcorder is not exposed to direct sunlight or intense light. If the infrared receiver of DVD camcorder is subjected to light stronger than the infrared light from remote control, the DVD camcorder cannot be operated by remote control. • If there is an obstacle between the remote control and infrared receiver of DVD camcorder, remote control may not be possible. • This DVD camcorder uses the "VCR2" remote control code of Hitachi VCRs. If you use a Hitachi VCR, etc. with the remote control code set to "VCR2", a VCR placed near the DVD camcorder will also be operated by the remote control: To prevent this, change the remote control code of the VCR. 55
