English MAINTENANCE NOTE: The information contained in this Manual is designed to assist you in the safe maintenance of the Nailer. Some illustrations in this Manual may show details or attachments that differ from those on your own Nailer. MAINTENANCE AND INSPECTION Read section titled "SAFETY" (pages 4 - 7). WARNING ⅷ Disconnect air hose and remove all nails from Nailer when: 1) doing maintenance and inspection; and 2) clearing a jam. 1. Clearing a jam Remove a jammed nail in the following order : 1 DISCONNECT AIR HOSE. 2 Open the nail guide. 3 Insert a rod into the outlet. Tap the rod with a hammer. Hammer Rod Outlet 2. Inspecting the push lever 1 DISCONNECT AIR HOSE. 2 Clean the push lever sliding part. Lubricate it with Hitachi pneumatic tool lubricant. Lubricate 1 Disconnect air hose 3. Inspecting the feeders 1 DISCONNECT AIR HOSE. 2 Clean the knob sliding part. Lubricate it with Hitachi pneumatic tool lubricant. 1 Disconnect air hose 4 Remove the jammed nail with a slotted screw driver. Nail Guide Push Lever Knob 1 Disconnect air hose 3 Open the nail guide and remove dust. Lubricate the sliding groove of the feeder and shafts. Nail Guide Nail Slotted Screw Driver 5 Cut the deformed collated wire with nippers. Correct the deformation. 6 In case of frequent jam, contact a Hitachi authorized service center. Main Nail Stopper Sub Nail Stopper Nose Opening Feeder Shaft Feeder 4 Lubricate the feeding surfaces of the nose and the nail guide after cleaning. - 17 - This promotes smooth operation and prevents rust.

Disconnect air hose and remove all nails from
Nailer when:
1)
doing maintenance and inspection; and
2)
clearing a jam.

Clearing a jam
Remove a jammed nail in the following order :
1
DISCONNECT AIR HOSE.
2
Open the nail guide.
3
Insert a rod into the outlet.
Tap the rod with a hammer.
4
Remove the jammed nail with a slotted screw
driver.
5
Cut the deformed collated wire with nippers.
Correct the deformation.
6
In case of frequent jam, contact a Hitachi
authorized service center.

Inspecting the push lever

DISCONNECT AIR HOSE.

Clean the push lever sliding part.
Lubricate it with Hitachi pneumatic tool lubricant.

Inspecting the feeders

DISCONNECT AIR HOSE.

Clean the knob sliding part.
Lubricate it with Hitachi pneumatic tool lubricant.

Open the nail guide and remove dust.
Lubricate the sliding groove of the feeder and shafts.
4
Lubricate the feeding surfaces of the nose and the
nail guide after cleaning.
This promotes smooth operation and prevents rust.
