Honeywell HHT-011 - Permanent HEPA Type Tabletop Air Purifier Manual

Page 3 highlights

ELECTRONIC FILTER CLEAN REMINDER: This model air purifier has an electronic filter check to remind you when to check or clean the Main filter based on the air cleaner's hours of use. A red LED light will illuminate when it is time to clean the filter. You should periodically check the filter. Depending on operating conditions, the Filter should be vacuum cleaned every 6 months. Use a vacuum attachment or brush to vacuum clean the filter. WHEN TO VACUUM CLEAN THE MAIN FILTER? These cleaning intervals are intended as guidelines only. Useful life expectancy of any filter media is dependent upon the concentration of contaminates going through the system. High concentrations of contaminates such as dust, pet dander and smoking will reduce the useful life of the filter. NOTE: The Main filter is not washable. CLEANING AND STORAGE: To RESET the Electronic Filter Check: Fig 4 III O 0 Filter Monitor Reset We recommend that you clean the air purifier at least once a month and before extended storage. Use only a dry cloth to wipe the external surfaces of the air purifier. DO NOT USE WATER, WAX POLISH, OR ANY CHEMICAL SOLUTION. If your Air Purifier will not be used for more than 30 days, we recommend: • Remove the Main Filter from the unit. • Wrap the Main Filter in an air tight plastic bag. When the filter monitor light remains on, it is time to check/clean the Main filter and reset the filter monitor, if needed. With the unit powered on, insert the tip of a ball-point pen or paperclip next to the LED filter check light and hold for approximately 5 seconds until the light turns off (Fig 4). Depending upon your individual usage (environment and hours used), you may need to check and vacuum clean the filter more or less frequently. If the Main filter is vacuum cleaned before the filter monitor light turns on, the filter monitor should be reset at the same time. MAINTAINING YOUR STAGE 1 WASHABLE PARTICLE PRE-FILTER: The stage 1 particle pre-filter helps pick up large airborne particles that enter the front grille. This pre-filter can be periodically removed and shaken to clean it. Alternatively, it can be rinsed by hand under warm water. Let the pre-filter air dry completely before inserting back into the unit. If you need to replace this item, please see Consumer Relations section on the next page. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS: My Air Purifier is starting to make noise and the air output is less. What's wrong? The filters may be dirty. High amounts of contaminates can block the pores in the filter and stop the air from moving through it. Vacuum clean the Filter. How long should I run my Air Purifier? For best results, you should operate your Air Purifier 24 hours a day. This unit will be more effective when doors and windows are closed. Can I wash my Main filter? No. Washing the Main filter will destroy it. For more troubleshooting tips, visit our website at: www.kaz.com 3
