INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS • If a power cord is not used and the electric dryer is to be permanently wired, this appliance must be connected to a grounded metal, permanent wiring system, or an equipment-grounding conductor must be run with the circuit conductors and connected to the equipment-grounding terminal or lead on the appliance. WARNING: • Improper connection of the equipment-grounding conductor can result in a risk of electric shock. Check with a qualified electrician or service representative or personnel, if you are in doubt as to whether the appliance is properly grounded. • Certain internal parts are intentionally not grounded and may present a risk of electric shock only during servicing. Service Personnel - Do not contact the following parts while the appliance is energized: main motor and cooling fan (located on blower housing). Installing your dryer Important: We recommend that you use a qualified installer to install your dryer. Tools you will need Phillips screwdriver Level Flat-head screwdriver Tape measure Adjustable wrench that opens Cutting knife Pliers to 1" (2.5 cm) Materials you will need • 3- or 4-prong (dependent on owner's house) electric power cord Before you start Before you start installing your dryer, make sure that: • The location you selected has a grounded electrical outlet. See Grounding requirements on page 19. • For U.S. models, you have the correct type power cord (not included). See Electric requirements on page 18.
