Hardware Installations and Upgrades Removing and Installing the Processor Air Ducts Warning: Always operate your server chassis with the processor air ducts in place. These air ducts are required for proper airflow within the chassis. Warning: The processor air ducts must only be used with active thermal solutions. Note: The following removal and install procedures are not applicatible to the UP configuration of the Entry Server Chassis SC5295-E. The processor air duct on the UP configuration is built into the left side cover. Removal (or installation) of the left side cover will also remove (or install) the attached ductwork.. When adding or replacing a processor, first remove the processor air ducts, and then refer to your server board User Guide for instructions on processor installation and removal. Return to these instructions to reinstall the processor air duct(s)after you have installed your processor and heat sink. Removing the Processor Air Ducts Note: The following procedure is not applicable to the UP configuration of the Entry Server Chassis SC5295-E. The processor air duct on the UP configuration is built into the left side cover. Removal of the left side cover will also remove the attached ductwork. Note: Presence of the small processor air duct is only required if you have an Intel® Server Board SE7320EP2 or SE7525RP2 installed. 1. Observe the safety and ESD precautions listed in Appendix A, "Safety Information". 2. Power down the server and unplug all peripheral devices and the AC power cable. 3. Remove the left side cover. Removing and Installing the Processor Air Ducts

Always operate your server chassis with the processor air ducts in place. These air ducts

Note:
The following removal and install procedures are not applicatible to the UP configuration
of the Entry Server Chassis SC5295-E. The processor air duct on the UP configuration is
