3 Hot Swap Drive Cage Upgrade Install Instructions (optional) The fixed hard drive cage that ships with your Entry Server Chassis SC5295-E is upgradeable to a hot swap drive cage with a SCSI or SATA/SAS backplane. See your Intel Representative for ordering information. Up to six hot swap hard drives can be installed in the optional hot swap drive cage. Power requirements for each individual hard drive may limit the maximum number of drives that can be integrated into the server chassis. Note: The Entry Server Chassis SC5295-E UP configuration does not support the hot swap drive cage option.This option is only supported in the DP, WS, and BRP configurations of the chassis. Note: The Entry Server Chassis SC5295-E does not support all hard drives. See "Additional Information and Software" for a web link to a list of supported hard drives. Before You Begin Before working with your server product, review the important safety information listed in Appendix A, "Safety Information". Kits Required • A hot swap conversion kit (part number: APP3HSDKIT). • Either a hot swap drive cage kit with a SCSI backplane (part number: AXX6SCSIDB) or a hot swap drive cage kit with a SATA/SAS backplane (part number: ACC6SATADB). Tools and Supplies Needed • Phillips* (cross head) screwdriver (#1 bit and #2 bit) • Needle-nosed pliers • Anti-static wrist strap and conductive foam pad (recommended) System References All references to left, right, front, top, and bottom assume the reader is facing the front of the chassis as it would be positioned for pedestal operation. The fixed hard drive cage that ships with your Entry Server Chassis SC5295-E is
