Using the Firmware Update Utility The Firmware Update Utility is a DOS-based program used to update the Baseboard Management Controller's firmware code. You only need to run the Firmware Update Utility if new firmware code becomes necessary. Running the Firmware Update Utility 1. Create a DOS bootable diskette. The version of DOS must be 6.0 or higher. 2. Copy the file ANSI.SYS to the diskette. Without this file, the procedure will run correctly, but the screen will not be readable. 3. Expand the file (for example, STL2FWSDR.ZIP) to the diskette. 4. Insert the diskette into the drive and boot to it. The utility will run automatically. 5. Shut the system down and remove any floppy disks that may be in the system. 6. Disconnect the AC power cord from the system and wait 60 seconds. 7. Connect the AC power cord and power up the system. Using the Adaptec SCSI Utility The Adaptec SCSI utility detects the SCSI host adapters on the server board. Using the Firmware Update Utility
The Firmware Update Utility is a DOS-based program used to update the Baseboard Management
Controller’s firmware code.
You only need to run the Firmware Update Utility if new firmware
code becomes necessary.
Running the Firmware Update Utility
1.

The version of DOS must be 6.0 or higher.
2.
