POSSIBLE CAUSES 33. • Your TV has AV input terminals, but is not set to its VIDEO mode. • The cassette's cover is open. 34. • During playback of the unrecorded portion, Highspeed Search and still playback, LCD monitor indications appear distorted. This is not a defect. 35. • The speaker volume is too great. 36. ---- 37. ---- 38. • A malfunction of some kind has occurred. In this case the camcorder's functions become unusable. 39. • The temperature of the battery is extremely high/low. • Charging is difficult in places subject to extremely high/low temperatures. 40. • This occurs when recording in the LP mode is not available. After the indicator blinks, the recording mode switches to "SP" and recording goes on. 41. • The viewfinder is pulled out. • The LCD monitor's brightness setting is too dark. 42. • This is not a malfunction. 43. • The DV cable was plugged/ unplugged with power turned on. CORRECTIVE ACTION 33. • Set the TV to the mode or channel appropriate for video playback (੬ pg. 46, 47). • Close the cassette's cover (੬ pg. 11). 34. ---- 35. • Turn the speaker volume down (੬ pg. 42). 36. • Wipe them gently with soft cloth. Wiping strongly can cause damage. 37. • Check the section of the manual that explains LCD monitor/viewfinder indications (੬ pg. 72, 73). 38. • Remove the power supply (battery pack, etc.) and wait a few minutes for the indication to clear. When it does, you can resume using the camcorder. If the indication remains even though you repeat the above two or three times, please consult your nearest JVC dealer. 39. • To protect the battery, it is recommended to charge it in places with a temperature of 10°C to 35°C (50°F to 95°F) (੬ pg. 75). 40. ---- 41. • Push the viewfinder back in. • Adjust the brightness of the LCD monitor (੬ pg. 19). • If the monitor is tilted upward 180 degrees, open the monitor fully (੬ pg. 18). 42. • By recording with "DIS" activated (੬ pg. 29) this can be avoided. 43. • Turn the camcorder's power off and on again, then operate it.
