Index Scan Successively plays the first 10 seconds of each track on the tape. Turning Index Scan On/Off: Press the SCN button to switch index scan on/off. The SCN indicator lights up when index scan is turned on. Stopping to Listen to the Track Being Scanned: Press either the SCN or 38 button. Playback begins as usual. NOTE • Index scan is canceled when the tape stops. • Index scan "knows" where a track begins by detecting the blank space preceding it (the space between tracks). However, when the blank space lasts for less than 4 seconds or contains noise, this function may not operate correctly. Furthermore, sections that are recorded at low levels may trigger the function if they last for 4 seconds or more. Switching Display Switching the display during the tape mode: Each time you press the DISP button, the display switches as follows: Tape counter "Character" "Clock" NOTE The tape counter is not exact, but only represents an approximation of the elapsed time.
