English DSP features DSP (Digital Signal Processor) A DSP is a device which uses digital control to correct the audio signal and produce sound effects that can compensate for the small passenger compartment of a vehicle. The DSP indicator lights up when the DSP is on. Turning the DSP On: Press the DSP button. "DSP On" is displayed once and the DSP indicator lights up the DSP is turned on. Turning the DSP Control Mode on: Press the DSP button while the DSP indicator lights up. "DSP CTRL" is displayed and the DSP indicator starts blinking when the DSP control mode is entered. NOTE • Be sure to turn the DSP control mode on when performing the operations described below in the DSP features. • If you make no button operation for 10 seconds, the DSP control mode is automatically canceled. Turning the DSP Off: Press the OFF button for at least one second. Sound Field Control This function reproduces many different virtual sound fields such as of a concert hall within a vehicle. Switching the Sound Field Control: 1 Press the DSP button. "DSP CTRL" is displayed once the DSP control mode is entered. The DSP indicator blinks during the DSP control mode. 2 Each time you press the SFC button, the sound field control switches as follows; ➨ "Stadium" ➨ "Concert Hall" ➨ "Live House" ➨ "Theater" ➨ "Disco" ➨ "Club Disco" ➨ "Jazz Club" ➨ "Studio" ➨ "Listening" ➨ "Church" ➨ "Bypass" ➨ 3 Press the DSP button to end the DSP control mode. Nuance Level Adjustment You can adjust the level of the DSP sound effects. 1 Press the DSP button. "DSP CTRL" is displayed once the DSP control mode is entered. The DSP indicator blinks during the DSP control mode. 2 Each time you press the FM or AM button, the DSP effects switch as follows; "Nuance High" j "Nuance Mid" j "Nuance Low" NOTE • This adjustment cannot be made when the Sound Field Control is set to "Bypass". • The default setting is "Mid". 3 Press the DSP button to end the DSP control mode. DSP Bass Boost Control Level Adjustment This function can add the original bass sounds to the insufficient bass sounds from the rear during using the DSP effects for correction. 1 Press the DSP button. "DSP CTRL" is displayed once the DSP control mode is entered. The DSP indicator blinks during the DSP control mode. 2 Each time you press the 4 or ¢ button, the width of frequency band for the bass boost switches as follows; "DBB STEP 1" (narrow band) j "DBB STEP 2" j "DBB STEP 3" (wide band) NOTE • This adjustment cannot be made when the Sound Field Control is set to "Bypass". • The default setting is "STEP 2". 3 Press the DSP button to end the DSP control mode. - 24 -
