Chapter 2. System Board Features System Memory The system memory interface is controlled by the chipset. Synchronous dynamic random access memory (SDRAM) is standard. The maximum amount of system memory is 128 MB. For memory expansion, the system board provides two dual inline memory module (DIMM) connectors. DIMM sizes of 8MB, 16MB, 32MB, and 64MB with a speed of 60ns are supported. The amount of memory preinstalled varies by model. The following information applies to system memory: SDRAM, nonparity memory is standard. Extended data output (EDO), nonparity DRAM is also supported. The maximum height of memory modules is 3.18 cm (1.25 in.). Only industry-standard, gold-lead DIMMs are supported. A mix of parity and nonparity types configures as nonparity. The following figure shows configuration information for the supported DIMMs. Figure 3.
