Locating the connectors on the rear The following illustration shows the locations of the connectors on the rear of the computer. 1 PCI adapter slot 2 Integrated cable lock slot 3 Mouse connector 4 Keyboard connector 5 VGA monitor connector 6 Parallel connector 7 Serial connector 8 Ethernet connector 9 USB connectors 10 Audio line out connector 11 Audio line in connector 12 USB connectors 13 Power supply diagnostic LEDs 14 Power connector Opening the cover Important Read Chapter 2, "Safety information," on page 5 and "Handling electrostatic discharge-sensitive devices" on page 8 before opening the cover. 1. Shut down the operating system, remove any media (DVDs, CDs, or tapes) from the drives, and turn off all attached devices. 2. Unplug all power cords from electrical outlets. 3. Disconnect all cables attached to the computer. This includes power cords, input/output (I/O) cables, and any other cables that are connected to the computer. 4.
