ProSafe 16 AP Wireless Management System WMS5316 Editing Access Point Information • IP: The IP address of the managed access point. • Model: The access point model. The field cannot be modified; it is set when the access point is added to the list. • Name: The user name for logging in to the access point. This field is not modifiable. • Password: The password for the access point. If you use the wireless management system to change a password for an access point, if it is offline or down, its password does not change. When the access point is unauthenticated, the new password is used to authenticate to the access point, and if successful, the new password is saved. • Group Name: You can assign a group name from which the settings will applied to configure the access point. IP Settings This screen lets you configure the management IP address settings of managed access points. • DHCP Client: Enables the DHCP client on the access point. Do not enable this unless a DHCP server is configured to provide access points the same IP address every time. The WMS5316 will not recognize the access point as the same if its IP address changes. • IP Address: This is the IP address of the managed access point. To change it, enter an unused IP address from the address range used on your LAN. This is allowed only when the access point is online and healthy. • Subnet Mask: Enter the subnet mask value used on your LAN. The default value is 255.255.255.0. • Default Gateway: Enter the IP address of the gateway for your LAN. Configuring Access Point Groups 47
