Smart Portrait Mode (Capturing Images of Smiling Faces) When human smiles are detected, the camera automatically releases the shutter without you having to press the shutter-release button (smile timer). You can also use the skin softening option to smooth the skin tones of human faces. On the shooting screen M A (shooting mode) button M F Smart portrait (A24-25) 1 Frame a picture and wait for the subject to smile without pressing the shutter-release button. • When the camera detects a human face, a yellow double border (focus area) is displayed around that face. When the camera has focused on that face, the double border will turn green for a moment and focus is locked. 1 / 2 5 0 F 3.5 • Up to three faces can be detected. When the camera detects more than one face, a double border is displayed around the face closest to the center of the frame, and single borders are displayed around the other faces. • If the camera detects that the face framed by the double border is smiling, Smile timer (A51) is activated and the shutter is automatically released. • Each time the shutter is released, the camera again initiates face detection and smile detection operations for continuous automatic shooting. 2 Stop shooting. • To stop automatic shooting of smiling faces, perform the followings. - Turn the camera off. - Set Smile timer (A51) to Off. - Press the A button and select other shooting mode.
