The Shooting Menu (for A (Auto) Mode) X ISO Sensitivity On the A (auto) mode shooting screen M Tap the d tab M X ISO sensitivity The higher the sensitivity, the less light is needed to expose an image, allowing capturing darker subjects. Additionally, even with subjects of similar brightness, pictures can be taken at faster shutter speeds, and blurring caused by camera shake and subject movement can be reduced. • Although higher ISO sensitivity is effective when shooting darker subjects, shooting without the flash, shooting while using the zoom, etc., images may contain noise. Option Description Sensitivity is ISO 80 when there is sufficient lighting; when s Auto (default setting) lighting is poor, the camera compensates by raising sensitivity to a maximum of ISO 1600. Fixed range auto Choose the range in which the camera automatically adjusts ISO sensitivity from ISO 80-400 or ISO 80-800. The camera will not increase sensitivity beyond the maximum value in the selected range. Set the maximum value for ISO sensitivity for effective control over the amount of "grain" that appears in images. 80, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600, 3200 Sensitivity is locked at the specified value. Reference Section B Notes About ISO Sensitivity • There are functions with which this setting cannot be enabled (A66). • Motion detection (E72) does not function when the ISO sensitivity is set to any setting other than Auto. B ISO 3200 When ISO sensitivity is set to 3200, the available Image mode settings are limited to r 2272×1704, q 1600×1200, and O 640×480. The X indicates the ISO sensitivity setting.
