Red-eye reduction control (Cameras in Group I [except F5], F65-Series/N65-Series and Pronea 600i/6i) When photographing people in dim light using a flash, the subject's eye may appear red in color pictures or white in B/W pictures, a phenomenon known as "red-eye" effect. Light from the camera's flash reflects off the retina of the eye through the pupil and back into the camera's lens. With cameras in Group I (except F5), F65-Series/N65-Series and Pronea 600i/6i, the SB-27's red-eye reduction lamp lights up for approx. 1 sec. before the flash fires and the picture is taken.
