13. Transmitting data Transmitting data via IR You can send or receive data such as business cards (names and numbers stored in the phone book) and calendar notes to or from a compatible phone or data device (for example, a computer) via the IR port of your phone. To send or receive data via IR: 1 Ensure that the IR ports of the sending and receiving device are pointing at each other and that there are no obstructions between the devices. The preferable distance between the devices is one meter at the most. 2 When receiving data via IR, activate the IR port of your phone by entering the Infrared menu (Menu 9). 3 The user of the sending device then selects the desired IR function to start data transfer. If data transfer is not started within two minutes after the activation of the IR port, the IR connection is cancelled and has to be started again. Note: Your phone is a Class 1 Laser Product. 76 ©2000 Nokia Mobile Phones. All rights reserved.
