Recording a source You can use the TX-DS747 to record either the source you are currently listening to or watching, or a different source. Check that the components are connected to the TX-DS747 as shown in "Audio equipment connections" and "Video equipment connections" on pages 12 to 15. If the Multi-Room System equipment is connected, make sure that the MR OFF indicator is lit while recording. Press the ENTER button to display the Menu screen. 10- Move the cursor to Rec Selector and press the cur- sor button. The Rec Selector screen appears. 2. Move the cursor to Picture and/or Sound. Use the or 10.- cursor button to select the component with "(SOURCE)" displayed below it on the left side of the screen. The components that can record it will appear on the right side. The component indicated as "(SOURCE)" is the currently selected input source. If a different component is selected in the Input Selector screen or by pressing an input selector button, "(SOURCE)" will appear below the name of the newly selected component. In the screen shown on the left, the currently selected video source is VIDEO-4 and it can be recorded by VIDEO-I or -2; the currently selected sound source is the CD player and it can be recorded by TAPE- I or VIDEO-I or -2. Picture: Indicates which video source is available for playback and which components are available for recording. Sound: Indicates which sound source is available for playback and which components are available to record. 3. Start recording on the recording component, then start playing the selected source. Using the on-screen display. you can specify a different component for Picture and Sound. 39
