2. Preparation 2.7.4 How to setup ON "EXT. IN USE" means MODEM or an extension telephone is in use on the same line. Do not use the fax machine while the message is displayed, or else the PC activities could be disturbed. {A}{B} {SET} 1 Set the fax machine to FAX ONLY mode by pressing {AUTO ANSWER} repeatedly to display the following. FAX ONLY MODE 3 RINGS [±] L The display will show the number of rings before the fax machine answers a call in FAX ONLY mode. L You can change the ring count setting by pressing {A} or {B}. Press {SET} to complete the ring count setting. L The AUTO ANSWER light is ON. 2 Confirm the automatic answer feature on the computer is set to off. and MODEM cannot be used.
