4.8.10 Phone settings 3. Change the settings as desired. - [Out of Range Alert] setting This setting determines whether an alert tone is heard when the wireless signal between your mobile device and wireless router becomes weak while talking on a landline call. When this tone is heard, voice quality may become poor; move closer to your wireless router. - [Landline Call Handling] setting If you are talking on a landline call and then receive and answer a call on your mobile device, this setting determines how the landline call will be handled. - [Keep Alive in Background] setting (iPhone, iPad only) Determines whether the app can receive calls when the app is in the background. Note that turning this setting on can affect battery performance. 4.8.10.3 Voicemail tone detection This feature is used to display "new voicemail" notifications. Turn this feature on if you use your landline phone service provider's voicemail service (4.8.12 Voicemail support (Page 60)). 1. From the [Home Network] app home screen, tap [Settings]. 2. Tap [Telephone Settings]. 3. Tap [VM Tone Detect]. 4. Select the desired setting. Clearing the "new voicemail" notification If the "new voicemail" notification remains displayed even if you have no new landline voicemail messages, use this feature to clear the notification. 1. From the [Home Network] app home screen, tap [Settings]. 2. Tap [Telephone Settings]. 3. Tap [Remove Voicemail Notification] ® [Yes]. 4.8.10.4 Landline settings IMPORTANT • Typically these settings do not need to be changed. If they are set improperly, the hub may not be able to make and receive calls properly. 1. From the [Home Network] app home screen, tap [Settings]. 2. Tap [Telephone Settings]. 3. Tap [Set Tel Line]. 4. Change the settings as desired. - [Dial Mode] setting Select [Tone] if your landline phone service supports "tone" dialing. Select [Pulse] if your landline phone service supports "pulse" or "rotary" dialing.
