Useful Information Troubleshooting General use Problem The unit does not work. I cannot hear a dial tone. "Recharge battery" is displayed and I cannot perform the following operations: - recording or erasing a customized ringer - editing a title for a customized ringer Cause/solution L Make sure that the battery is installed correctly and fully charged (page 12). L Check the connections (page 9 - 11). L Unplug the base unit's AC adaptor to reset the unit. Reconnect the adaptor and try again. L The handset has not been registered to the base unit. Register the handset (page 48). L Confirm that the telephone line cord is properly connected (page 10). L Disconnect the base unit from the telephone line and connect a known working telephone. If the working telephone operates properly, contact our service personnel to have the unit repaired. If the working telephone does not operate properly, contact your telephone service provider. L The battery power is low. Fully charge the battery (page 12) and try again. Programmable settings Problem I cannot program items. While programming, the handset starts to ring. Cause/solution L While another user is listening to messages or the answering system is answering a call, you cannot program items. Try again later. L A call is being received.
